Orthodox Prayer

Orthodox Prayer centers around the Lord's prayer, Trisagion prayers, and other prayers used for special circumstance; from formal morning and evening prayer, to prayers for special occasions including the celebration of feast days (Saints of the Church remmbered daily); and the many occasions of life. The Psalms also play an important role in the life of the Church. The "Creed" is also included.

Our Lord instructed that we pray always, and therefore, in addition to the Lords Prayer and other formal prayers, the Church encourages the faithful to continually pray the Jesus Prayer: "Lord Jesus Christ Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner". This prayer is spoken softly within the heart, always and continuously.

Prayers include:

The Trisagion Prayers (represented here in part only):

Holy God, Holy Mighty. Holy Immortal, have mercy upon us. (Repeated three times)

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

O Most Holy Trinity, have mercy upon us. O Lord, cleanse us from our sins. O Master, pardon our transgressions (offenses) . O Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities, for Your Name's sake.

Lord have mercy. (Repeated three times)
